Crush by Lacey Weatherford

Camilla Noelle Wimberley best know as Cami is a beautiful, smart and talented 17 year old senior. She has a best friend named Clay who's pretty much been part of her world well since forever. But Clay isn't exactly who Cami thinks he is..

Cami and Clay are considered to be nerdy and geeky. Well mainly Clay but Cami by association.Even though she's smart she's a beautiful girl and the boys in her school all notice. Especially Hunter Wilder.

Bad boy with a party and drug use rep Hunter Wilder is sex on a stick. Almost too good looking to be a high school senior. He quickly climbs up the social latter in his firsts couple of weeks of being there but none of that matters once he lays his eyes on Cami.

"Dear heaven above, have mercy on my soul. I'm going to end up in hell."

Cami knows that she needs to stay away from Hunter. He's got trouble written all over him. But what Cami doesn't know is that she's attracted too trouble especially if its named Hunter Wilder.

"He was carnal, delicious, something I  craved. I'd never felt that way about anybody before. It was both thrilling and terrifying."

Hunter can't help but want to be around her even though he knows he shouldn't. He knows that Cami is a risk he's taking. But he can't help himself...she's a risk he's willing to take no matter what the outcome.

"You stepped out the door that day and I was... I don't know...lost. I've never believed in love at first sight before, but then it happened."

But Hunter has a secret that can and will change everything. So that question Cami has to ask herself is; "is it possible to love someone who never really existed?

OH EM GEE! I have no clue why I waited this long to read this book. I've literally had it on my Nook for about 6 months. It was actually the first book I bought on my Nook. Wow. Dear lord Lacey Weatherford is amazeballs. Like Oh Em Gee type of amazeballs. I was expecting a cute little high school love story. But she delivered a crazy, keep me on the edge, I can't believe that just happen love story. The whole time I was dying to know Hunters secret and when I found out my jaw dropped like the ball in NY at New Years. It was crazy!!!! To say I was shocked is seriously putting it lamely. Greattttt story, I can't believe how it all played out. I'm definitely going to read more from her she's clearly a talented writer. Kudos Lacey, kudos. You had me on the edge of my seat.

Smitten is the sequel to Crush and you best believe I will be reading it.

Beneath This Man (This Man Trilogy)

We pick up the story right where we left off with Ava and Jesse. After Ava has discovered one of Jesse's secrets things get crazy horrible and fast. But once one sec
ret is out the rest start to follow.

Ava hasn't seen Jesse for 5 days. Not a single word has passed between them and it appears Jesse hasn't spoken to anyone. So when Sam (Jesse's mate) comes to Ava for help she can't refuse the cheeky bastard especially with that worried look he's carrying. But once Ava gets a look at Jesse she crumbles like a cookie that never had a chance.

"He is cracked and broken, which means I am cracked and broken."

Shocked at how she found her once strong, domineering man she can't but help feel guilty. But the sadness must be put to the side to bring her Jesse back.

Once better and intact, Jesse does his relentless pursuit to make sure Ava never leaves him again. But with people who are vengeful against Jesse it seems that they'll do anything to get their revenge. Including going after the one person that Jesse loves..Ava

"I feel damned and blessed all at once for having found him."

This story is crazy brill. It just gets better as you read. The secrets, the betrayal, the love. It's so clear to see that Jesse and Ava are meant for each other. This book is insanely good. Jesse Ward is definitely a man I wouldn't want to upset. But neither is Ava O'Shea. She's def one tough cookie and even though Jesse sucks her in she definitely showed in this book that she can be just as intense and deadly as Jesse.

This Man Confessed comes out on July 2,2013 and I can NOT wait to read it. I'm seriously in love with Ava's challenging, neurotic, domineering ex playboy.

This Man by Jodi Ellen Malpas

Jesse Ward is devastatingly handsome, wealthy and powerful. He's a man with many talents and even
more secrets. But when interior designer Ava O'Shea shows up in his life everything turns upside down.

Ava is a beautiful and talented designer at the young age of 26. She's just gotten out of a shitty relationship with a twat of a man and is now having fun and is happy. But when she stumbles into Jesse Wards office everything changes.

Jesse is a man with many secrets many of them that he knows could destroy everything he has with Ava. And instead of telling her from the start he lies and manipulates her with sex. But what's done in the dark always comes to light.

When Ava finds out just one of his many secrets it all comes crashing down. How could have she been so oblivious to his lies? How could she have fallen in love with a man she barely knows?

"You made me fall in love with you."

This Man is utterly brilliant. I couldn't stop reading it once I started. I love Jesse and his intensity. I love Ava and her smart mouth and attitude. But I also hate Jesse and his need to control Ava and dictate her life. And I also hate how Ava was so easily swayed with sex and ran at every chance. But overall I love them together.

It's a great read and I can't wait to start "Beneath This Man" next.

Movie Review Monday: Star Trek Into Darkness

Star Trek: Into Darkness (2013)

Synopsis: The Star Trek franchise continues with this follow-up to 2009's J.J. Abrams-directed reboot. Abrams returns to direct from a script by Damon Lindelof and the writing team of Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman. The crew of the Enterprise engages in an epic battle of good versus evil after being summoned home, only to discover Starfleet in ruins, and they venture into a war zone to find the powerful villain (Sherlock's Benedict Cumberbatch) responsible for the devastation (Fandango

Tanisha's Review: This is one of the best films of 2013, no ifs, ands or buts about it. I was eager to see to this movie because my favorite actor Benedict Cumberbatch was starring as the evil Khan. But I was very impressed with this franchise. They are making a killing off the revamping of the series. I think they did a great job continuing from the 2009 film. (Which I saw a week before seeing this one.) I like Star Trek, and in my opinion, it's a lot easier to follow than Star Wars.

This movie was truly a blockbuster hit, and even if you haven't seen the TV episodes, you can still understand whats going on. Full of amazing action, and great wit. Also, seeing Captain Kirk, and Spock becoming closer was such a tear-jerker.  J.J. Abrams did an spectacular job, and I can't to see more of his films.

Why I think you should see this? Benedict. Cumberbatch. And then go on Netflix and watch him on Sherlock.

I give this movie a 5 our of 5 stars.

Red Letters by Krystina Stevens, Review

First I would like to say, this copy of Red Letters has been given to me by the author in exchange for an honest review. It is my goal to be as honest as I can to help the authors growth in any way possible.

Now, on to the good part!

Tania has a problem, which I think a lot of women can relate to. Her fiancé, Martin, is a work-a-holic. He eats, sleeps, and breathes work. Since he's overly consumed with his work, he leaves Tania home alone quite often. She feels neglected, angry, disappointed, and point-blank lonely.

Martin feels that all his hard work will pay off in the future for them when he has moved up in the ranks of the company. They have a wonderful house, cars, and life; but that all comes with a hefty price.

While Martin is gone slaving away at work, Tania starts receiving these mysterious handwritten red letters. The first one states:

"You are beautiful."

Then the second one :

"You are desirable"

She's been neglected by her fiancé for the past two years, so when all this special 'attention' sparks up, she starts looking for comfort in all the wrong places.

From the moment she opened that first letter, things went down hill. But the question is, can she make the right decision and pick up the pieces? Or will she continue to go down the path of mystery?

At first it took a while to get into the story, but I think it's because Ms. Stevens is very detailed for every scene. Which in my opinion helps and hurts the flow of the book. Also, I enjoyed how she portrayed the friendship between Tania and Katie, it reminded me of Oriana and I. Except we haven't gone everything they've gone through. But you'll understand when you read the book.

My recommendation is to have Red Letters turned into a screen play and shipped to the headquarters of Lifetime immediately. This book as LMN written all over it. It had love, passion, thrilling scenes, plot twist. EVERYTHING.

But in all, I really did enjoy this book, and I recommend it to everyone that enjoys a good Lifetime movie.

Read this book, and then let the author know just how much you liked it. (:

You can buy Red Letters on Smashwords.

Movie Review Monday: Eat Pray Love

Eat Pray Love  (2010)

Synopsis: Liz Gilbert (Roberts) had everything a modern woman is supposed to dream of having - a husband, a house, a successful career - yet like so many others, she found herself lost, confused, and searching for what she really wanted in life. Newly divorced and at a crossroads, Gilbert steps out of her comfort zone, risking everything to change her life, embarking on a journey around the world that becomes a quest for self-discovery. In her travels, she discovers the true pleasure of nourishment by eating in Italy; the power of prayer in India, and, finally and unexpectedly, the inner peace and balance of true love in Bali.(From IMDb

Tanisha's Review: Out of every movie I've seen in my life, this has to be my favorite. I've probably seen this movie more times than I should. Not a lot of people know this movie is based on a true story, and it's very inspirational. Everyone has that little part of them inside that wished they could just pack up and go away for a year, and that's exactly what Elizabeth Gilbert (author of Eat Pray Love) did. Julia Roberts played an awesome role, that quite frankly, seemed to be written for her. The best part of the movie is we got a chance to experience the different cultures of Italy, Bali and India.
This movie is about finding yourself. Finding that missing piece. She reflected on her life, saw that something was missing, and did something about it.

Check out the book Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert also.

I give this movie a 5 out of 5 stars.

If You Stay by Courtney Cole

Pax is a bad boy with a void he fills with booze, women and drugs. He's sexy and dangerous, every good girls dream or nightmare. He's a troubled soul with memories he's trying to forget. The truth will set you free, right? Or will they burn you to your core?

"He's gorgeous, and flawed and sexy. And i have no idea what I'm getting into."

Mila is a ray of sunshine, everything good that a person can be is Mila. But she's got a past as well one she tries to cope with. She doesn't hide from it, she deals with it.

So how did it all begin? Well it all starts on the night Pax and Mila meet. From there on nothing will ever be the same. Pax knows he's an asshole and he's accepted that. But Mila refuses to believe that. She knows deep down Pax can be fixed. Not for her, but for himself.

"Are you trying to find some sort of reason that I've become such an asshole? The reason is...I'm an asshole. Period. Assholes are assholes. Rainbows are pretty. Kittens are cute. Chick flicks are sad. It's the way of things, no explanations."

But sometimes you can't keep the nightmares away and what happens when the truth comes out might break you beyond repair.

"Because it's easier to fade out of reality than face it."

So what do you do then? When you're broken and even the ones you love can't keep you together?

"That's a travesty of life. Sometimes we hurt those that we love the most."

If You Stay was such a great read. The drama, the love, the secrets and truths that are revealed. From the moment you begin this book ( the beginning will definitely have you blushing.) till the moment you put it down; it's simply amazing. Pax is a character that you feel for and Mila is one hell of a woman to love him. Love never fails and this book def shows that. When someone really loves you they'll never give up on you.

Courtney Cole hit the nail with this one. I loveddddddd it. I hope you guys do too.

Spoiler alert (not really a spoiler but I'll let you in on a secret) I cried at the end. Sue me. Lol.

Tangled by Emma Chase

"Women fall in love quicker than men. Easier and more often. But when guys fall? We go down harder. And when things go bad? when it's not us who ends it? We don't get to walk away. We crawl."

Drew Evans has it all. He's gorgeous, young and successful. A smile from him and you're captured; enchanted by him. Known to seduce a woman by simply being him it's easy to see how he's gotten some of the most beautiful women in New York to fall for him and over him. But that all changes when Kate Brooks comes and turns his life up side down.

Katherine Brooks is beautiful, intelligent, and a smart mouth sassy woman over all. She plays no games when it comes to her career and doesn't let anyone not even super sexy and irritatingly charming Drew Evans get in her way.

Drew has never had to chase after anyone. 1. Because he always got chased and 2. Because no one was worth the chase until Kate Brooks.

" She tastes...Jesus, i've never done drugs, but I imagine this is what that first snort of cocaine feels like, that first shot of heroine. Goddamn addictive. "

But once he has a taste of Kate he can never get enough, but Drew is for lack of better words a dumbass! He's a guy after all and ladies we all know how dumb guys can really be. So what does he do to get Kate to believe him? To take him back? Well I'll tell you this much. The flu sucks but once you're better it's amazing. ;)

This story was hilarious! I'm used to a story being told in the females POV so having one from a guy is always exciting and a hell of a lot funnier especially if the guy is as blunt as Drew.

" Just so you know, men don't expect a woman to smell like winter pine or Niagara Falls or whatever the fuck those feminine products say. It's a pussy-it's supposed to smell like one. That's the fucking turn on. "

LOL; this was such a great take on a love story. Prince Charming is just holding Cinderella down! Or at least that's what Drew thinks haha. It's a great read and the characters are amazing. It's the first book in the Tangled Series so I'm keeping my eyes open for the ones to come.

I hope you guys read this book and fall for Drew Evans, aside from big an asshat at times he's really sweet and persistent. Totally makes Prince Charming look like a guy with a hairy vagina lol.

xx. Ohh.

Movie Review Monday: Identity Thief

Identity Thief (2013)

Synopsis: An accounts representative embarks on a frantic quest to reclaim his identity from the Orlando thief who stole it and destroyed his credit by embarking on a massive spending spree in this comedy starring Jason Bateman (Arrested Development,Horrible Bosses) and Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids). Sandy Bigelow Patterson (Bateman) has a problem. A Denver family man who's always been responsible with his personal finances, he is shocked to learn that his credit score is in shambles. But it gets worse -- if he can't clear his name in a week, the mix-up could very well cost him his job. Fortunately Sandy is in luck; after the unrepentant Florida fraudster (McCarthy) who stole his identity causes a stir in a club and misses her court date, Sandy is arrested and promptly released when detectives request a mug shot, and realize their mistake. When the police refuse to offer any help, Sandy realizes that his only choice is to catch the impostor himself and bring her back to Denver to face justice. Unfortunately, this wily thief isn't going down without a fight, and with a grizzled skip tracer (Robert Patrick) and a pair of vicious gangsters (Génesis Rodríguez and T.I.) determined to get the fake Sandy first, every step along the way will be a struggle. (From Fandango

Tanisha's Review: I enjoyed this movie, even though it took me a while to get into it. It had great comedic moments, and awesome stunts. I'm glad the previews didn't give away all the good details. I still can't believe Melissa McCarthy is the same woman that played Sookie, she did great. This movie was also a good teaching tool, on how to protect yourself from identity theft. DON'T GIVE OUT YOUR INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE (or internet). This movie didn't get the best reviews online, but hey, it's only your opinion that matters.

I give this movie a 4 out of 5 stars.

New Music Tuesday

Welcome to New Music Tuesday!

The Weeknd - Kiss Land

I'm not a fan of The Weeknd, but hey, I have to keep you guys updated with new music. This song isn't  too bad in general. The Weeknd has great vocals, which is always a plus. I recommend this song for when you're having "sexy-time".

Carly Rae Jepsen - Take a Picture

I am a fan of Carly Rae Jepsen. But I don't understand why target her for the younger crowd when she's older than Lady Gaga. This song reminds me of the Coca-Cola commercial for some reason. It's a cute song for like Disney Channel, but I'm waiting for when the adult Carly comes out.

But nice summer song.

Ke$ha - Crazy Kids (Feat. Pitbull)

I love GLITTER, Ke$ha loves GLITTER, we should be best friends. Okay, enough with my awkwardness. This is MY summer song. Ke$ha has flow, and if anybody denies that, they are tone deaf. I studied music for most of my life, I'm a pretty good judgement.

Pitbull, who's on everything now and days, is great. He helps me brush up on my español (well him and Oriana). He's great as a feature, because doesn't over power the song, but at the same time, adding a little Latin flavor.

Movie Review Monday: Friends With Kids

Friends With Kids (2012)

Synopsis: Jennifer Westfeldt wrote, directed, and stars in the romantic comedy Friends With Kids. She plays Julie, a Manhattanite whose biological clock is about to run out, so she convinces her longtime platonic best friend, Jason (Adam Scott) to father a child with her.
They seem to have a much easier time juggling the responsibilities of new parenthood without the complication of being in a relationship with each other, which is in contrast to the two couples they are closest to. As their friends' marriages implode, Julie and Jason's happy equilibrium topples over as well when he falls for a hot young artist (Megan Fox) and she begins dating a successful businessman (Edward Burns). (From Fandango

Tanisha's Review: This movie was quite funny, but predictable. But I think that's what had me so into it. I have a crude sense of humor, so all the "vulgar" language did not bother me. Friends With Kids is that one film that is so bad, that it's great. I don't see it winning any Grammy's, but it's good for relaxing on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

Jennifer Westfield was a little awkward, I'll admit that. But this movie really depicts some of the struggles that comes with having children accurately. My favorite couple were the two that was also in Bridesmaids, hilarious. And my favorite part had to be the ending, but I won't ruin it for you. You'll just have to watch to find out.

I give this movie a 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Connected By Kim Karr, Review

This review is going to be a little different than usual. Since both Oriana and I read and thoroughly enjoyed Connected, we want to give you guys both perspectives of the book.

Click here to visit Kim Karr's website, twitter and facebook. Be sure to tell her how much you love her book!

Tanisha's Review:

“I feel like fate has brought us together again. I also believe that one night, so long ago, just wasn’t the right time for us. But tonight is.”
― Kim KarrConnected

When  I first started Connected I could not get into it, but I think it was because I had other activities going on. But once I was calm and relaxed, I fell in love with this book. One thing about Connected is nothing is predictable. NOTHING. Kim Karr knows  exactly how to throw you through some loops, and have you cursing out a fictional character.

You know how everything happens for a reason? Well I think this book thrives on that statement. There is no way Dahlia and River can meet two times and not have a specific reasoning for it.

Dahlia London has had her streak of bad luck, but everything changed when she meets River Wilde for the second time.

River Wilde is the perfect example of what a man should be (which is how we know this is fiction), and I know most women would agree with me. He's charming, honest, loyal and lovable. But let me not forget his looks. I would use adorable, enthralling, gorgeous, tantalizing, and mesmerizing to describe River Wilde. Just perfection.

I love how he healed her heart with just being his self, and showing how much he cares for her with his actions.

I'm not going to give away too much, but that cliff-hanger at the end...woah.

Thank you Kim Karr for being such a great writer!

-Tanisha (:

Oriana's Review:

Wow. Is the first thing I have to say. When I read Connected I was left mouth opened and angry!!! But you'll understand why once you read it. ;).

So lets talk about River Wilde for a moment....perfection. That's what it all falls down too. River is amazing in every and yes ladies I mean everyyyyy sense if you catch my drift lol. But when Daliah first sets eyes on him danger is the only thing that her brain can drum up. But lord knows the danger wouldn't keep her from talking to him.

Fate is a funny thing, see no matter what or who or where you are if it's fate you meet someone you will. But destiny, see destiny makes sure that even if the timing is bad you get another chance.

When Dahlia is at her lowest destiny plays it's game and makes sure that River Wilde comes back into her life like lighting. Too fast to see it strike but the aftermath is a huge impact.

"Something... no everything about him drew my attention."

This book has everything a good book needs. Love. Laughs. Drama. And the ONLY cliffhanger. I swear I have never cursed a character out until I read this book. I legit tweeted my hatred for a certain character and my friend had to ask me if I was ok lol.

Read connected, fall in love with River and Dahlia but most importantly let it give you hope. Hope that when it's meant to be it will be.
